Established in 1930, the family-owned Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice first started as a humble food cart parked at Clyde Terrace Market "铁巴刹", which served modest meals of rice curry and chap chye (mixed vegetables) for labourers in the area. Since then, the brand has established itself as a household name among many Singaporeans and has gone on to win numerous awards. Their original 2-sauce recipe has also seen an international celebrity following.
