The V60 has similarities to other brewing methods, but differences in design make it a unique method all on its own. Constructed with raised, spiralled ribs and wide aperture that allows coffee to pass through the paper filter, the V60 brews quickly and makes a nuanced, balanced cup.
The Chemex Coffeemaker consists of a narrow-waist glass flask and uses proprietary paper filters, made of chemically bonded paper which remove most of the coffee oils, and thus brew coffee with a different taste from coffee brewed in other coffee-making systems.
Cold Brew or Cold press refers to the process of steeping coffee grounds in room temperature or cold water for an extended period. The cold-press process requires grinding: coarse-ground beans are soaked in water for a prolonged period of time, usually 12 hours or more. The water is normally kept at room temperature, but chilled water can also be used.
