Originating in India, Vadai was usually coarse in texture and made of lentils, which made them very filling. During the 70s, people started adding prawns to their traditional Indian style vadai. Our founder grew up around that, but yearned for a more Singaporean taste! She tweaked the recipe, and what we got was this soft and fluffy vadai. We started selling this in the late 80s, and it took off due to the popularity in the Geylang bazaars! The rest is history!
